This is a rather old 3D demo using flash: 3D planets with Gouraud shading and texturing. Spheres are approximated by recursively subdividing an icosahedron.
I get ~11 fps with low quality versions and ~4 fps with higher quality versions.
There are some visual artifacts I can't figure out how to remove (update: figured it out since then, haven't updated this demo). Needs Flash player 8.
Controls: click and drag to rotate the planet.
earth (high quality)
mars (high quality)
moon (high quality)
earth (low quality, faster)
mars (low quality, faster)
moon (low quality, faster)
If you only see the fps counter, you don't have Flash player 8 installed. It's required.
